Rescued Animals in Need
Covering a wide area south-east of London, the main aim of RAIN is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home animals, and to provide any help that is needed in terms of general care and veterinary treatment. We work mainly with cats, dogs, and small pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters that all need new homes for one reason or another. The charity also has contacts with welfare organisations dealing with wild animals, birds, and other animals.
Rescued Racers
Rescued Racers always has a good number of greyhounds on the books who are looking for loving stable homes. Please feel free to contact us using any of the available methods for a chat regarding available dogs.
Squirrel Info
Our organisation, based in Hampshire, is dedicated to squirrels in the United Kingdom, and offers general information and advice on how to care for sick or injured animals. We will always look after any squirrel brought to us, although we are not often able to collect. We appreciate that many enquiries come from all over the country, and we are gradually building up a network of carers who will also look after squirrels.
Swan Sanctuary
The Swan Sanctuary is a charity dedicated to the care and treatment of swans and waterfowl. We are proud to have extensive medical and rehabilitation facilities. The Swan Sanctuary and its associate centres around the country are on 24-hour alert, 365 days a year. When a 'swan in distress' call comes in the local rescue squad is on its way within minutes. At the scene the rescuers assess the situation and provide 'front-line' emergency treatment. More seriously injured birds are then rushed to the sanctuary for intensive care. Emergency helpline: 01932 240790
T.A.C.T (Talnotry Avian Care Trust)
Operates a voluntarily run Wildlife Centre in the village of Crumlin, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The Charity cares for and rehabilitates sick, injured and abandoned wild birds and mammals. The Trust's primary aim is to return birds and mammals back to the wild where practicable. T.A.C.T however operates a policy whereby NO animal is humanely destroyed if it cannot be released or found a good home. Animals that cannot be returned to the wild are given a home at the Centre and looked after for the rest of their natural lives by a team of dedicated staff and volunteers.
Teckels Animal Sanctuaries

Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital
All British wild animal casualties brought to the hospital are treated completely free of charge and are released through a controlled programme, back to the wild, when they are fully fit. No sick, injured or orphaned wild creature is ever turned away. Every casualty is given a chance, we do not have a 'put down policy', euthanasia is only ever applied as a last resort. Any animal or bird unable to be released is maintained at the Hospital, or at our Field Centre, in as natural conditions as possible. All sick or injured birds and animals, call Tiggywinkles on 01844 292 292 (24 hour Emergency Line).
Tortoise Trust Rehoming
The Tortoise Trust has been rehoming tortoises and turtles since 1980. We have successfully rehomed thousands of animals. We have very strict controls in place and take great care to ensure that very high standards are met and maintained. If you have any questions about our rehoming service, please do not hesitate to contact us. There are no feescwhatsoever involved, either for persons needing new homes or for those adopting. Our sole concern is to ensure the future welfare of the animal.

Turtle and Terrapin Rescue
We operate a nationwide collection and re-homing service. Turtle Rescue (based in Lincolnshire) aims to help re-home unwanted turtles of all types. UK Animal Sanctuaries and Rescue Centres
Online Animal Sanctuary and Rescue Centre database. Once you have found the Centre or Sanctuary you've been searching for because you have or know of an animal that requires help, please don't just use them and forget them. All the sanctuaries on this site (as well as the dozens of others that I don't yet know of) from the small to the large, are always short of funds or, in some cases, a helping hand. The smallest amount of either can sometimes mean the difference between their survival and closure.
UK Cat Rescue Shelters
We aim to help rescue centres in any way we can, through this site, to find more homes for cats in their care. Rescue centres are still continually full with stray, abandoned and unwanted cats and kittens.
Wetnose Animal Campaign
A national fundraising campaign that raises money to give to sick domestic and wildlife animals in smaller rescue centres and good causes all over the UK and overseas.
Whitby & Scarborough, Dog Rescue
Dogs are taken in from the Dog Wardens throughout the area when they are due to be destroyed. We also take dogs from private homes. We operate a non - destruction policy and are run purely by volunteers. This year we expect to rehome more than 150 dogs. If you would be interested in becoming a foster carer please contact the office. We cover the Whitby-Scarborough-Bridlington-Pickering-Malton area.
Wildlife Hospitals
Each year in the U.K. an estimated five million wild birds and animals are injured or disabled in some way. Many of these injuries happen when animals come into contact with people. Some are accidents, some not! The organisations listed on this website are run by dedicated people, often voluntarily, who offer help to these casualties by treating them, and where possible, releasing them back to the wild.
Wildlife N.I.
Northern Ireland's only wildlife ambulance and wildlife hospital. Also re-home dogs and cats.
Wythall Animal Sanctuary
Our aim is to save and find homes for as many unwanted pets as possible. Many thousands have been found new homes. Many of these animals may otherwise have been destroyed. WE have a non-destruction policy and we are the last hope for these animals. As our name signifies we give them Sanctuary.
